I got a letter from George Foulkes at the weekend ( one of the Regional
MSP's I e-mailed ) regarding Petitions PE1037 and PE1042 seeking to amend the Smoking Ban in Scotland.
Text as follows:-
" Thank you for your email regarding petitions PE1037 and PE1042.
Unfortunately, I am unable to add my support to these petitions. As a
backbench MP in 1982, I tried to introduce legislation to the UK Parliament
that would ban smoking in public places and I am extremely proud that
the Labour government in Scotland has managed to achieve this with
such success.
Figures released in March 2007 showed that 46,000 people across
Scotland tried to quit smoking last year by contacting cessation services
while 70 percent of the population support the new law and almost 80
percent consider it a success.
I remain incredibly proud that Scotland took the decision to go
smoke-free ahead of any other part of the UK and proud too of the way
that the people of Scotland have made the ban work.
I wish you well for the future.
Yours sincerely,
George Foulkes MSP
Member for the Lothians."
We will have to make sure that the Smoking Ban doesn't work
from now on.

He's proud of putting Hitler ahead of Churchill.
That's odd.
He's proud of putting Big Pharmaceutical interests ahead of individual rights.
That's odd.
He'd rather have a world government dictating to all countries than individual democracies. His polls, what polls? The jimmied up polls that ASH fed him to fool him even further?
That's odd.
He sounds totally ignorant to me, only aware of what the lobbyists said who have been paying him no doubt as they have over here.
Horrible letter he sent too. |
